Communicating health and safety to the CapU community.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we designed a clear and effective signage system to help students, employees and visitors to learn new health and safety protocols and navigate through campuses and buildings. The signage system covered everything from wellness checks and handwashing techniques to room occupancy limits and directions for movement.

To communicate complex ideas simply, we developed a series of icons and used them consistently throughout the signage system. Early on, diversity and inclusion were identified as important considerations in the signage. Icons included a variety of skin colours to ensure people of all backgrounds were represented.
